Submission Guidelines for the 2026 Case Writing Competition

Submissions should follow the general format for Ethics Olympiad cases: a scenario, between 400 and 800 words long, which highlights a clear moral issue is appropriate for middle or high school students and is written in a way that encourages civil discourse. The scenario should be framed so the central issue is clearly moral and not simply or primarily legal or professional. Be sure and check out past cases for examples. To enter, submit the completed form below, in order to enter your school must be a member of the Ethics Olympiad (list of member schools here).  If you have not received an email confirmation from us within 48 hours please email us. You can also email us if you have any questions at admin@ethicsolympiad.org.

Please submit your case below. (On receipt, we will email you a confirmation via email within 24 hours) Any application received after 24/4/2026 will not be included in this year’s competition.

If there is more than one student involved please list all students at the end of your 'Case' below.
The coach must be a current teacher at the school listed above.
Please include a coach's email address linked to the school listed above; eg robert.swift@emmanuel.sa.edu.au
If you're unsure of what you'd like to title your case, please use "Untitled"
Please include three key words to help identify your case's central topic/issue. Separate each with a comma, (e.g., tiktok, privacy, national security).
Please make sure you submit between 400 and 800 words. Please include references and three possible questions.
